Carbohydrates in Bread and Why They Make You Fat
The carbohydrates in high-carbohydrate foods like bread and pasta are broken down by the body and raise blood sugar levels. This depends on how many carbohydrates you eat and how fast you digest it. The pancreas then secretes insulin, which pumps excess sugar from the bloodstream to the liver, muscles, and stomach. Everything depends on the availability of storage space.
And that's precisely where the problem lies.
When glycogen is stored in the muscles and liver, insulin
stores excess blood sugar as fat, in the stomach in men and in the hips and
thighs in women. There is only one time when there is room for blood glucose in
the muscle glycogen stores, and that is after a good workout. At that time,
muscles need excess blood glucose and other nutrients to replenish their stores
and promote growth.
It is recommended to eat small portions 5 to 6 times a day
and to use fats, carbohydrates, and proteins in each meal. It is also
recommended to take carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables, as they are of
better quality and quantity than other carbohydrate products. In addition, you
should be careful about which carbohydrates you combine in your diet. Bananas,
for example, are high-carbohydrate fruit, so if eaten alone they cause an
immediate rise in blood sugar, but if combined with a healthy fat or protein,
they don't cause as high a blood sugar response.
Good Carbs and Bad Carbs
Here are some foods to avoid and some that are good in terms
of carbohydrate concentration.
Avoid white rice, white bread, white potatoes, corn flakes,
rice crisps, sugar, ice cream, bananas, cooked carrots, candy and cake.
Eat dairy products, fruits, vegetables, unrefined whole
grains and sprouts, sweet potatoes, barley, and legumes.
Bread (especially white bread) is high in carbohydrates and
should be avoided whenever possible. I have decided to give up bread altogether
because I regularly drink Mona Vie, a juice made from 19 different fruits,
which is high in carbohydrates, and I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables
every day. The other day I was craving scrambled eggs, bread, and butter,
delicious! I thought to myself. So I cooked three eggs in a pan and ate two
slices of brown bread for diet.
As soon as I finished eating, my stomach hurt and I threw up. I eat eggs every
day and have never been sick. My body is used to living well without bread, and
it did so quickly, so the bread will now be like a foreign body that my body and
system don't like.
